The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m.

That the minutes of the January 15, 2004 Intermunicipal Advisory Committee
on Disability Issues be adopted.

5 Old Business
5.1 Grant in Aid Letters
Marnie distributed a copy of the letter she sent out to the municipalities
requesting a grant in aid December 29, 2003. Letter from Metchosin stated
that the request would be dealt with at the Metchosin hall Monday February
16, 2004. Donna Gramigna is to attend on behalf of the Committee.
5.2 Seniors Information Fair
Marnie stated this was the focus of the meeting. Time is short and we
need to
make sure we went over the preparations.
The location, date and time have been finalized.
The Juan de Fuca 55+ Activity Centre will provide table set up and lunch.
The date is Feb 24 from 10-3

Door Prizes
Cynthia is coordinating the collection of gifts. So far she has pins
from
Colwood and Langford, passes for Juan de Fuca, baskets from Karen, two
monthly bus passes from BC Transit.

That the Committee allocate no more than $50 for the purchase of door
prizes.

A roll of tickets is to be purchased for the door prize draw.
Committee members available for the event include Marnie, Daffoni, Karen,
Cynthia, Doug, June - all day; Lillian part of the day, Community travel
training - AM only
June is to contact Linda Vincent regarding a short discussion of scooter
specifications and training. She is also to see if a low floor bus and
a
handyDART van could come for an hour (after lunch preferred time).
Cynthia volunteered to be M.C. and to provide music.
Donna and Lillian are to try and get some media coverage for the event.

Sheet. Marnie asked that any changes be forwarded to her.
6 New Business
There was no new business
7. Next Meetings
The February 19th meeting is cancelled. The next meeting is March 18 at
Langford City Hall. The focus will be debriefing the seniors event. Marnie
is
to ask David Stott to make a presentation. At this meeting the A.G.M.
will be
held.
Sometime in the future the Committee would like a tour of the new Bear
Mountain Arena (only Marnie and Doug saw the plans in June) and to discuss
next year major activity of the Committee.
